A French couple began their round the world journey in London and flew to Tokyo. Then they flew to Taipei. Next they flew to Hanoi. Then onto Bali and across to Darwin. From there they used local buses to travel overland to Sydney. Then they flew from there to Auckland. Next they flew from there to Santiago.
They only had one more flight Montreal to London. They began to run out of money and had a long distance to reach Canada. They found the long distances sick making and very tiresome. They could only afford the lowest price accommodation. It made for very stressful traveling indeed. They had to travel by boat from Colombia to Panama.
What do you think of their trip?
Which places on their route would have been cheap?

I am not sure about this trip, it is nice to travel, and do it for as many countries as we can, but, the way this couple did it, seems to me, too tired and expensive, with no enough time to really enjoy the country they are in. I think that they could have chosen a region or country, and spend more money on there, in my opinion that would have been a far more joyful experience.

Yes, that couple saw too many countries comfortable for their budget. They rushed to see as many places as possible in their time frame. I like you idea that you should have chosen one region and explored it instead. Yes, that would have been a far more enjoyable experience for them.

A world ticket is an awesome ticket and well worth the funds if you have the time to spend in each country etc. What did this couple do regarding hotels, did they stay at budget ones or rather nice ones? Thailand is a place I think everyone should try and stop off in, it is rather cheap and the islands are amazing.

That couple stayed in cheap hotels to try and spend as little money as possible. I agree that Thailand is a superb destination for an around the world stopover. I would love to go shopping in Bangkok for a Thai costume doll and then do some island hopping plus snorkeling exploration.
