Hi Wonderboy Today's generation is quite habitual of mobile phones. And yes even students keeping it with them. About mobile phone, I don't think it can create any problem if we use it properly. In fact it is quite useful. It is just like everything is having advantage and disadvantage. So it is up to us how we use it..

My elder son wanted to get a mobile phone when he was in senior two in the high school, but we did not get one for him. Later when he went to college in another city, we got him a Nokia one chosen by him in his favor. Personally, it is not a good idea for high school students to use mobile phones as it distracts their attention on their study though it helps them to contact their parents and friends. I don't think that mobile phone is a weapon.It is just a good useful.And i think that kids can be responsible enough to handle a phone.I mean a 9th grader should be.

Hi thewonderboy, my brother is 14 years old and he is about to finish his 9th grade, he has changed his cellphone more often than I do but he never asked our parents to buy him a new cellphone, he always save his money and also do extra job like helping my mom to sort out documents, etc so he can buy latest phone he desired by himself. At first we worried if my brother would not doing good in his study, we are afraid it may distract him from study but he proved that he is doing good in exam, he always get the highest score at math . Actually he likes computer & cellphones, he learns cellphone tips and tricks, how to upgrade, what application is good for his cellphone, etc. When my cellphone was having trouble he fixed it for me, and sometime he helps his friend to upgrade the operating system of their cellphone. So I think whether cellphone gives good effect or bad effect to teenager it is really depend on the teenager and how the adult control it, guide the teenager to use the cellphone wisely and not forgeting their study.

If your cousin is not misusing it then it is not bad to have cellphone.That will be good to have one but till then when you are not misusing it or even not playing game in it then it will be ok to have one
