since my 11 year old Rizzo was put down due to cancer. I have been tossing around getting another dog to be buddies with my other dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Blaze. I am seriously considering a little girl who I would rescue from Texas who is a Rat Terrier cross.
How long did any of you wait til you got another dog or did you?

Luckily, I still have my first dog as I just got her 2 years ago. I think there would need to be time to grieve, and realize that Rizzo can't be replaced, but will be remembered always. All dogs, like people have different personalities to them and traits and you will always remember that. If you can rescue another, and feel you are up to it, I think it would be wonderful for that dog in Texas to get a new home :)
