Help! One Piece Manga or Anime?

I've just started watching One Piece two weeks ago and I say that it's really cool. Cool, in the sense that it's something new and it's also funny. I've been spending my spare time watching this Anime and at some point there are episodes that are dragging. I can't believe they spent almost more that 10 minutes staring at each other's enemies and not starting the fight. Is this going to happen for the next 500 plus of this Anime? (I'm still on episode 40, by the way)I would like to ask you, One Piece fans out there, which would be better? Should I continue watching the anime or should I go with reading Manga? Help. Please share your pros and cons. Thanks!

My cousin told me the best way to enjoy one piece is through manga. Episodes may tend to get delayed on air and in manga you have almost ended up a season (hahaha.. typical manga avid readers does these) Go get yourself a good website in browsing manga online. It also saves you from being remorsed because a sertain part of the sotry is cut if turned animation already. Happy reading manga while mylotting ^___^-)

Good idea. I came to a decision that I will just read the Manga. If I'm able to catch up with the latest, then that would be the right time to watch the Anime. Thanks a lot! :3

Oh yes, this anime is really fun. I watched it a long time ago but got tired of following it since it was really long, like Bleach. You should try reading the manga first, maybe it is better- it's a lot longer though.

Yes, One Piece would really take loads of my time. Even though I would miss the colors and action effects by the Anime, I think it would be better if I pick reading Manga. Thanks though.

I haven't read full OP manga, so can't say which is better But, I had the same problem. I stopped watching it after 48th episode due to similar reasons and a friend of mine convinced me to watch it saying it will get better. And it indeed was better, I never stopped watching the second time until all the released episodes were over and then I started reading manga It pretty much never had the same effect like anime for me I would say, anime was really better

Really? That, I hope so. I tend to compare it with Naruto Anime and I think One Piece is more dragging than the latter. I hope that the next episodes will be fun bro. Thanks.

the pros. of watching anime: You will enjoy every action of the one piece. the cons: it will cost you much time to watch every episode. the pros. of reading manga - it will cost you little time to know what will happen next, and the episode in manga is much advance compare to the videos, cons: in some aspects, you will not enjoy the episode

Yes, I thought about that too. I'm reading the Manga now and it really didn't entertain me much. Boo! I guess, I'll be watching it sometime. Thanks anyway.

i have been a fan of One Piece for 7 years now, and the best way to enjoy it is to go both ways, manga and anime. some important storylines are only found in the manga, while the anime showcases the best of the fight scenes. the comedy is better with the manga, too. also, the anime has a tendency to have filler arcs, that dey the story and may make it dragging...

I'd say stick with the manga, because I'm beginning to detest how the anime drags with all the expositionary dialogue and gags. I wish the pacing was better, and am hoping the manga isn't as badly paced

You should actually do both. Because the anime is based on the manga but not everything in the manga comes out in the anime. I saw all the anime up to the actual date and now i am going to start getting the manga so i can read it and see what the difereces are, what they left behind. There is also a part the in the anime they dont explain how luffy gets that scar on his face, but in the manga it does. i think it is worth seeing it and readong it.

As for me you can do both. I agree that reading manga can saves time but I think you will miss the action in anime though you already thought of it while reading like me. ^^ Anyway, If you only to follow the story just go with the manga but I think there are some side stories in the anime which the manga don't have. If you're an action fanatic go with the anime cause the action scene are way too vivid and distinct. Whether manga or anime it is still One Piece one of the most popular anime... EVER!!!!

Continue wathing the anime in my opinion becuase I think that the action in one piece is to much to be contained in a manga. The mangaka drawing is not the same as the bleach drawing or other action mangas so the action seens are not as powerfully presented as it should be. If you want to know more about the new world and luffy's adventures you should read it
