My Cat Freaked me Out Last Night

OK, so last night I couldn't sleep (as per usual) and got up to use the bathroom at 11:00 p.m., and when I came out my cat was in the dining room sitting on one of her favorite places there, but her head was facing my bedroom and she kept on staring that way without flinching or moving as if she saw something odd or strange, with her head and neck stretched out. Now, I know if it were some kind of insect she would have gotten up and tried to get it, she is good that way with finding any type of little or big bugs. But she didn't, she kept staring and it was an odd stare, I never saw one like this from her. I thought she might have heard a strange noise, and sometimes cats just do this for no reason I guess too. But it freaked me out as I have had wierd experiences in this house before with odd, possible "spirits" or whatever you want to call them. I just got up and went to bed, thinking about what it was she saw or heard that kept her interested even after I left her there. It freaked me out. Today all is well though, nothing unusual, etc that I saw or heard since.

My dog does that all the time I know we have spirits in the house and they don't bother us but she growls at them sometimes or follows them around its kinda unnerving at times my cats don't seem to be bothered by them to much although my youngest cat I think chases them trying to play as she is often found in full out play with a person who is not there I just don't let it bother me

Yes we have all kinds of weird. Things happen at my house all the time when we were younger the tv and lights would turn off when we left the room even though we didn't do it so we never got in trouble for leaving them on the recycling also gets picked up off the floor at night and put away around 2am as it's right outside my bedroom and I can hear it falling in when no one else is home we joke that we have a very neat ghost. Every time we get a new animal it seems to take a bit for them to get used to it often growling and hissing at something that's not there but they settle down usually inappropriate few weeks

LOL, thats funny. i would love to have some people here that are ghosts experts. I have seen them on TV. I like shows about orbs too, I have taken lots of photos with orbs in them. The last one was me by the Christmas tree and there was this humongous white orb above my head at the top of the tree, the biggest orb I have ever seen in one photo.

so if you have had weird things go on in the house perhaps she sees whatever that spirit is? it must be a good spirit or she would have hidden. perhaps an angel looking over youlike a friend or family member that cares about you that has passed away but still watches over you. I would never be afraid of that if i were you/

Cats and dogs, as most people say, can actually see and feel things we human can't. I have observed that same thing with our dogs too. There was one time my mom and brothers said our dog kept barking at the door and there's no one in there. They felt a bit scared about it.

I once had a cat named maomiumiu, he was very cute...I think your cat just found something interesting.Cats are more sensitive than humans, don't worried.

They say that cats has this thing for seeing paranormal things which we human cannot see. If that is the case and if you are afraid, I suggest you just pray and have someone such as a priest, or pastor, or anyone which has the capabilities to drive spirits away to check out your home and do something so that the incident wouldn't happen again. Take care.

It might be that the cat sensed a spirit. THey have great vision and smell. I would watch her closely and see if she looks this way before. If you don't care to have the possible spirit around you could do a cleansing with sage. Just ask the spirt to leave and let the smoke soak into the corners and all throughout the house. A spirit can make it self known by ringing the phone, making knocking noises, opening and closing doors or cupboards, or any many of things. Mine touched me among other things.

Certianly animals have more accute senses then we do. And if you could sense another energy in your home there is no reason why your cat couldn't also. It doesn't seem like she was afraid so I don't think there was any reason you should be. It you want to clear you house, get some sage to burn and look on the internet
for the prayers needed to clear unwanted energies.

Yea, I think it could have been but how can I be sure. It seemed like she was afraid at least a small bit, that was why it freaked me out, the scary & steady way she had her eyes focused on that "thing" towards my door. I wasn't afraid though, I have been in rooms where stuff like this has happened with strange things occuring and such. I think the spirits can't really harm you themselves most of the time, but after I thought I felt one hitting my foot one night waking me up out of my sleep-- I think they just might be able to touch you, or even hurt you if they wanted. Funny you should mention sage, I bought some the other week and have it planted outside. I will get to burning it and doing what you say about the prayers too. It can't hurt. It might make my family think I'm nuts but why has that ever stopped me before from doing some things, haha.

I believe that cats can see into other dimensions. Your cat may have seen something strange or heard something. Glad everything is okay.

Well cats have much better hearing and sight than we do so maybe there was a little bug or something that she was focuing on to see what it did. It was dark so it would have been harder for you to have seen it.
