My four years old daughter is diagnosed with hernia yesterday. I was stunned and however, I asked the physician about non surgical methods for her issues. He said there is no non surgical methods available for the hernia issue and it has to be operated at once it is diagnosed. But I am not convinced on operation and looking for non surgical method for the issue. Is there any non surgical method available for the hernia operation? Please let me know the possibilities. The hernia is noticed on her right side reproductive organ.

Hello :). Having an hernia sucks, and I'm sorry for your daughter. From the localization, it sounds like an inguinal hernia, which appear on the abdominal wall near the groin. As far as I know, the only way to fix these hernias is through surgery, since these appear because of weakness on the tissue, they don't go by themselves. They can be dangerous, since they are simply a hole, and the intestines or some fluid can escape through it, and its never a good idea to have things inside you out where they don't usually go. The surgery usually takes less than an hour, and while a small scar is left, its usually done in the folds of skin to reduce how noticeable it is. Also these type of hernias come in pairs, so the doctor might have to make an incision in her left side too, however this is not always the case. So in short, to answer your question, no, there aren't any non surgical methods for hernias. I hope your daughter gets better :).

No problem :). And yes, laparoscopic surgery is used to repair hernias and it has certain benefits over the traditional open surgery, such as less healing time and smaller scars, but it cannot be done if the hernia is incarcerated. Speak to the doctor and see if he has the technology available and if its applicable to your daughters case. Also remember that it is still surgery, so it also has possible complications and effects, including the possible effects of general anesthesia (for open surgery they can use spinal or local) and it is also more expensive. However, if your doctor thinks its possible, it can also save a lot of pain from your daughter, since she will be healing a few small incisions instead of a big one. For specific information you should speak to your doctor, also in webmd they have an article about laparoscopic surgery to repair inguinal hernias that you can check out to go informed when you go speak to the doctor. This is the article: http://www.webmd.com/digestive-disorders/laparoscopic-inguinal-hernia-repair

I am an energy therapist. I treat a hernia by energy flow to the abdominal wall, to push protruding organs. After that strengthen the abdominal wall. You can do it for your daughter. - Conduct natural breathing. - Turn the palm of your hand. - Collect energy as you inhale. - Concentrate on the body of the sick, when you hold your breath. - Put your hands on the sick body. - I breathe, circulate energy through the palms of your hands into the patient. (visualize protruding into the organ). - Do it again and again. You can send an email to me, if you're having trouble on this therapy. My prayer for healing of your daughter...

Looks like an inguinal hernia. There is no surgical treatment for this.I am medical student and I have seen several such cases. The opening or weakness in the abdominal wall causes this. The surgeon will strengthen these muscles so that such similar episodes wont happen again. Many people experience. But after the operation, she should not put si much strain on the abdominal muscles like over exercising, coughing, etc.Other than that, she will be all perfect running all around.

Hi Manasha, I am very sorry about your daughter, I know how you feel. When I was young around 5 years old, I was diagnosed with ingunal hernia too. Since were living in a rural area and maybe due too lack of knowledge my mother tried non surgical procedure like applying different kinds of oil, leaves and even massaging it without even knowing the consequences. But after a few days they noticed that my hernia was getting bigger, has some inflammation and painful, those are signs of infections. Then we consulted to the Dr. and only surgery can correct or repair my hernia. Now I fine after many year it feels like nothing happens to me. I know your afraid or worried about your daughter contidion but be brave, your daughter is young but she needed to undergo surgery to repair her hernia and to prevent any complication in the future. I will pray for her. God bless.

is it inguinal hernia? i think the only solution for that is surgery.. it's herniorrhapy.. but it's for the surgeon or physician to decide what best for your daughter.
