Did you get any genetic testing done when you where pregnant? For me in my first pregnant I didn't want any genetic testing because I felt for me it really didn't matter I would love that baby regardless if they where healthy or not. The same in my second pregnancy now. I've dyne all genetic testing done. It would just be more stressful. Pregnancy is already not that easy all of the time so going that route is just not for me. I know other people would do it and that is okay with me if they do it but for me it isn't and my husband understands why I didn't want any and that there is always a chance something might be wrong even when things look and come out great. There are just so things out there these days that a test just can't tell you.

Is this the same as DNA compatibility test? To ensure that the baby won't have abnormalities due to the wrong mix of genes?

I think that's what I have in mind - just not the right terminologies. I think I've read or heard it from news and talkshows before, that a couple can have such test to find out if their genetic make up would not cause any birth defects on the baby.

A lot of couples do and a lot of couples don't. My husband left it up to me. Normally they will only check the mom first and if there is like a red flag then they check the husband, but that doesn't mean it'll show up something saying the baby is okay or not till you do a animo for them to extract some fluid from you to get the baby's dna. Also certain religions they automatically do certain genetic testing. I've skipped both times because for me it just seems to be more stressful and that isn't good for a pregnant mom having a baby. But some things a baby can have is terminal and they won't live long so the doctors like to give the mother and father a choice to end the pregnancy if they so wish to.
