First Marriage Proposal on Idol

Like most of us AI fans, we came to watch the finale to see who's going to win, to witness some great singers coming out to the show, to see the rest of top 12, see some remarkable and funny moments and behind the scenes throughout the season and to see a few AI Alumna and celebrity fans on the show. But, there's one thing that I think most of us did not expect to happen and that was definitely the proposal made my Ace Young to Diana Degarmo, and man, Diana had slimmed down and had really grown into a woman. I vividly remember her as chubby and adorable 16 year old a few years back when they were both in American Idol. The proposal was sweet and fit for the two since it was there that they met and it was through Idol that they're both living their dreams in Broadway. I was excited and happy for both of them and I was like clapping when the proposal was made.
Any thoughts?

I didn't watch that part of the show because I was too focus on Jessica's performance and await for the results. but I am happy for the top 7 and that runner up, they seemed to be a very happy in their relationship. i think they should do single i have watch them on the broad way. i wonder they aren't making songs too? but if they're happy there then fine by me

they still make music but as independent artist I think, Mainstream may have the money but a lot of Idol finalist decided to go indie after realizing they wont get promotion. There is a lot of politics with mainstream music.... Plus in mainstream your body will be sore touring the whole world. If you try to check the myspace accounts of many former idols, they still make music.

Mainstream music is more for the total package, the promotions and anything or anyone pleasant to see and not much about the music really. Most of them had gone to broadway and some would have their songs in myspace and iTunes. But, I wish that AI could do something about their careers afterwards and at least support these people.

I had to miss this unfortunately and I think this is pretty cool as I can remember both of them from yrs. ago. Had No idea that they were dating even. But personally I do wish them both the Best and may all their dreams come true.

Even I didn't know that they were dating as well. And also, I don't know where they've been for the past 9 years or so. I didn't even know that they were also on Broadway just like Fantasia who was their American Idol during their season. I hope that they get to their dreams as well and have better career.

yes, it was great to see the proposal of Diana and Ace i think they will make a great couple. how about the almost proposal of ryan seacreast to julianne hough? ryan asked for a autograph of someone on Julianne's movie. i don't remember who because i thought he was going to ask julianne to marry him. oh well....

Oh yeah, I remember that, but that part of the show was just for show and nothing more. Diana and Ace really look like an awesome couple and to have music as their common thing that they share, that's something. Ace was so romantic and sweet and almost felt like crying.
She is so lucky.. I hope they have a wonderful marriage.

Yes it was a bit of a highlight for me too. It's a pleasant surprise amidst all the tension of waiting for the big announcement. Ace Young is still gorgeous and Diana is really beautiful. The guy was really nervous and the girl turned out to be speechless afterwards.
