I hope I am not offending any Pakistani members here. But, I could not help feeling this way after reading about the country's punishing a Dr. Shakil Afridi who was responsible for the successful termination of the world's most wanted terrorist leader Osama Bin Laden, to a sentence of 33 years jail. His crime? Treason against his country. Isn't it a fact that Pakistan had been denying that they do not support terrorists and terrorism? Isn't it a fact that Pakistan had declared that their country is free from terrorist training camps or establishments? And that their intelligence agency had not been able to find any whereabouts of any active terrorist cells? But, we all know when news finally broke out that the leader of the Al Qaeda - Bin Laden had been residing in the most prominent and sensitive part of Pakistan and was finally executed by an elite army team. Is the government delusional or otherwise a "chameleon" of international politics?

Interesting points. I strongly believe that Pakistan maybe a double agent that takes money from both sides. I refuse to believe that they had Zero intelligence that a Terrorist Mastermind was living in their country. The fact that they are punishing this Doctor from ridding the world of such monster, speaks volume.

The facts are plain and straightforward here, so I hope the Americans will not go Zero intelligence with such a hideous and self denial country. On the other hand, I have to criticize the Americans for leaving their informant out to fend for himself when they should be protecting him. Also, I am wondering if he had gotten the reward money for Bin Laden's bounty.

In this day and age, 10 years post-9/11, anything is possible. Honestly, they could be. They could very well be supporting terrorism, and then the question would also be, "Well, why didn't U.S. go to war with Pakistan as well?" Pakistan could very well be supporting terrorism, and it wouldn't be a far-fetched idea. Of course, it would be Al Qaeda if this is the case. I really don't know what other group it could be? Terrorism is just about everywhere these days. My advice is to just be vigilant. If you see something the looks really suspicious, then don't be afraid to report it because you never know.

I felt that the U.S. would really reconsider Pakistan as an ally and stop all economic aid to this country which had evidently proved to have supported known terrorist groups. The country is a haven for these notorious groups. It is also disturbing to learn that the U.S. did not protect their reliable informant and just left him out to "dry" after the successful take down. It is just not right at both ends.

Its now an open secret.Pakistani government has always been a chameleon.I feel for the people there. This is the same thing that India has been saying throughout these years, but nobody listens to it,now look they have punished a person (whistleblower),accusing him being treasonous to the nation. If raising voice against terror is called treason, then the fact is that pakistan is synonym for terrorism.
