can you believe that, the philippine governmen spent more than six million pesos already for the empeachment of the Chief Justice Corona. what can you say about it? the money they spent for it is not their own money and it is the people's money. DO you have any comments about it?

Hello Leon, I just hope that this guy is convicted but i feel frustrated in the events. because it was said that he won't go to jail even if he is guilty of the charges. six million pesos a lot of money boot, i wonder how many laws would have been debated and passed. we can always rant and be upset but what is done is done. but that's why am not watching this whole thing

now a day, politics becomes a business, many people in the politics made politics a business, and may pursue it for their gain, for their own good. they want power, authority, and money. they want to be served than to serve, they are voted for them to serve those who are in need but it seems that they are living like kings. they help people expecting for a return.

...let'see what happens. Anyway, the charge was he didn't include his assets. there is still a debate whether his assets i combined with those of his children and wife) were ill gotten. It it was it might be another charge.

They should have given the money to charities and organizations that helps the poor. It surely will go a long way. I hope the decision will be for justice and for the good of all. I'm so dumb when it comes to our government and any political issues. Hope they find him guilty with his deeds and this will all end well so they won't have to put all those money to waste...

Not to mean to insult but to hope a person guilty is the same as praying for a person's demise, right? --which is bad, in my opinion. I'm actually hoping that a person would be acquitted or not guilty, instead of guilty no matter what the cost because it would mean that justice is correctly served if the person is really not guilty and being let go by the court as he/she is innocent. Instead of wishing another person guilty, I would hope that a person would maintain his/her innocence until found guilty. In our law, a person is innocent until found guilty--not guilty until found innocent.

Oh yeah, sorry about hoping for him to be found guilty. I am just so sick of all the news being always him. Well, he was found guilty and with all those evidence, I think justice really prevailed.

yeah. I hope justice will prevail. I cannot judge CJ corona because I don't know him and I was not following the trial. so i hope that if they find him guilty it is proven beyond reasonable doubt.

it is all worth it because of our pursuit of good governance, honesty, truth, and the drama it brought to us. it is more educational, informative, and entertainment. after this, public officials will be careful in completing their saln forms. the standards of public officials will be higher because of this trial. there will be laws that will be reconsidered because of its flaws. for the sake of good governance, i am ok to have our government spend millions of pesos.

If that money had been invested, we could have billions instead of more ignorant people becoming popular in the whole world due to the live broadcasts of the hearings.

you have your point and I agree with you. finding the truth is really costly and the truth will set us free. it doesn't matter how many they are spending as long as it is for the good of the many.

Awww man. You know to be honest.. Our country sucks.. It's being run by stupid people.(sorry for my blunt words)... They gave this impeachment so much attention that they spent 6million php already is really absurd... While they are doing that... our people somewhere near the place where china forced to be theirs are facing a fishing ban.. Our president at the same time being a coward and not facing the head of China Face to face... instead he asks diplomats to do the job.. And he even spread that we might hire mercenaries for our armies?? Has he gone insane? I MISS MARCOS

Thanks for supporting my opinion. And yes i completely agree... and to add to that our president is not a statesman as well!! He always has someone speaking for him...Can't he face the people? If Ninoy wasn't killed. The Philippines would be a better place really. Because, if ever Ninoy lived and wasn't assassinated...he would've led our country! I have nothing against women.. but truly...Corazon Aquino (rest in peace) is not capable of running a stubborn country such as ours... We need people who can handle other people... who can persuade and who has an iron will! hay... The Philippines... The pearl of the east... has lost her shine... So sad everytime i think about it..

Thank God! I thought I was the only person muddling over the same thoughts. I think that this trial is somewhat a sham but may people feel that it is important. I realize its important but it's not the same way or degree when to comes to me. the whole thing is predictable, eve though I missed by a few numbers. anyway, what ca you expect from politics, it's a circus.

i totally agree with you.. we have a coward for a president.. he doesn't even know how to look professional when delivering his speeches.. he thinks he's in the biggest and most enjoyable playground - malacanang.. he even gives effort to answer those smallest of intrigues addressed to him - my gawd - even showbiz.. what the.. he just won by virtue of the memory of his parents.. what a waste of position indeed..

I was quite shocked abut it too- but i did hear from the news on what they spent it on.. normal stuff.a And there were hundreds of people there. But i also think it is kind of waste. Let's just hope something good came out of the impeachment.

well, i am a filipino and i believe that this impeachment is staged.. first of all, the government should have allotted that amount for the improvement of this country or better yet, to have new programs for the betterment of the citizens, but no.. they spent it for the impeachment because the executive side of the govt doesn't agree with the judicial side.. our president clearly wants that all leaders in the government agree with him and not question his moves.. well, corona was against our president.. the impeachment was the only way to get rid of the chief justice and so they did everything they could to manipulate the govt.. phil is no longer a democratic country for we are slowly slipping into silent central authority.. and besides.. why the impeachment when in the first place, the presentation of evidence was in violation of the constitution.. the prosecution clearly violated the procedures and their was no substance in the evidences for they were merely presenting heresay and rumors.. it should have not progressed as it was.. if it was presented at the fiscal level, it was readily trashed.. and the offense corona was charged with is not impeachable.. i am not pro corona, i was just hoping that justice and the rule of law prevail..

that is a lot of money. it would have already helped to build a lot of classrooms and send children to school or donate school supplies. it would be unfair if after all these trials and circus ends, cj corona wont go to jail still but at least all the world know that he lied!

It is not only the money that was lost but the time and efforts of the Senate and the House of Congress in this impeachment trial which should have been invested more wisely on the pressing issues of the country. No bills were enacted during this period which should have benefited the greater majority. Add to that the funds used by the other branches of the government just to find proof and evidence against CJ Corona, from BIR, to Land Registration Commission, AMLA and the extensive investigations just to backup the impeachment. Whether acquitted or convicted, what will come out of this trial? After a few months we will forget all about corruption, dollar deposits and SALN's because of the forthcoming elections. We will forget that all these senators and congressmen have not signed the waiver to declare a true accountability of their wealth. However, the law students have certainly benefited from all the legal drama of the impeachment. Well, it was better than the afternoon teledramas.
