Promotion

I spent a year a web developer but just this May 25th, I was promoted to a higher position which is the Chief Information Officer of our company. I'm nervous sometimes because personally I think I still have to learn more before taking this position. Im currently taking up masters but I think it is not enough because what I really need is experience. And Im only 21 that's why Im afraid that some of the employees might not respect me. Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

Congrats on your promotion, where was the former Chief Information Officer now, why did he left the job. Its good if you are a top rangking persons as your view and suggestion will be taken seriously. You must also learn the business etiquette so that you know how to act when meeting with other brainer.

Don't worry about your age, you are deserved for that position and be confident with it. you feel hard in the beginning time only but i am sure that you get your work so fast because you are good in work.

Congratulations and keep on doing the good work!I think that many will admire you because you are promoted. It happens because of your experience and not of something else. Just do your job and I think that you can achieve more. You are very young and I can say that if you maintain your good attitude you can achieve more in life. There might be some people who will criticize you or spread gossips against you but remember that "We cannot please everyone." Just do what you know is good and what can help you grow. What matters is as you work on your dreams, don't forget to be humble.

but maybe the company consider that you can be promoted a higher level..
you must be lucky..don`t be afraid..be a professionally and your workmate will respect you...

Congrats on your promotion. And its normal to be nervous, but confidence can be seen through your actions. Obviously someone saw something in you that cause them to give you the position. And it doesnt matter your age, because if you think you cant, then your rite you cant. But always think positive and look at it as a highway thats pretty much on high cruise control. So jus gain that experience and build your resume. But if your starting big now and your that young, with confidence, you can be playing golf with owner of your company by 30.
