Unsure Career

Many student nowadays get confuse on what course that they want to pursue. Which results on Unsure Careers that may have in the future. Most high school student says that "I don't have a plan yet to go on College" or "I don't know what's the best course for me." They don't bother themselves on what course do they want for College. Some parents pursue their son/daughters to take this course even they don't like it. They don't take it seriously which leads to have a low grades. But due to money, those guys graduated easily even they learn nothing. Those facts results to unsureness of their Career. They don't excel on the field they take. Some people enrolled on another course because they think, they are not suitable for the job. or they don't know what to do or alike. Few percent around the world only strive to reach their goals and excel on the field that they take. That's why we can count the people who are millionaires/billionaires. Just a fact I guess.. :D

I believe teenagers should do work experience to try out different careers to see if one of them would appeal to him or her for the future. I know that Connections helps young people with choosing a career in the United Kingdom. When I was a teenager I spent time in the secondary school's career office. There I saw brochures for colleges and liked the look of a college situated on the River Thames. I thought it would be useful to study business and finance which included an interesting shipping and Transport. I got an interview and they made an offer of get 4 C grades and I am in. I got 3 C grades and 2 D grades. They let me in due to getting nearly the right grades. For two years I worked as a container marketing controller for a shipping company but then got made redundant in the recession. I traveled to different countries whilst I was choosing my next career. It was primary school teaching and I went to university to get my degree plus learn how to do that. Teachers are not in their job to earn loads of money. It is all about making children enjoy learning.

I think it should be the parents who would do that. Parents should encourage their children and think of a way how to enjoy learning. With this children will enlighten when they are mature that learning/studying is very important to survive in this world. And this method will carry on from generations to generations.

Hi there! Well i think i know what you are saying.. you know what? i was unsure what i want myself when it was me trying my luck in passing university entrance exams. i mean i was already in my fourth year high school then and i still was trying to figure out what i want, what my parents can afford, what i will be willing to do, or what will be a hit in 4 years time.. at least for me what i was doing is to know what i can do and what i can build on... i am only trying actually and i think i was even thinking about if i made the right decision when i was on my 2nd year in college! ha ha oh well i pursued it then and thought there was no time to re think and no time to waste as i am on limited funds... ;) anyway i think everything will just fall into place... no matter how we plan our lives.. we will will have to succumb to God's plans...

Yes, I definitely agree with it. Nowadays, this topic is on almost everybody's mind. There might be few students who aren't interested in studying anything and stay useless doing nothing. But there are many students who have dreams and would love to pursue those dreams. It's just that sometimes they do not get a proper opportunity. As you said that many students are confused about what course should they opt for. I think this is because a lot of pressure from every side. Every member in their family and friends brainwash the child's mind to opt for this and that. Everybody gives their own opinion but they do it so much that actually stresses the child's mind and he/she loses the ability to think and act properly. And end up choosing any career which they do not like. If they have a bright mind, they might study well but and get good grades but what is the use of doing something forcefully and without interest, later on they might find themselves very pressurized. But if the student is weak in studying, he might fail in the first try itself and might even try to do something awful. There are very few people left who choose a career with their own decision. And that is why there are a handful of millionaires and billionaires, as you said! Lol! ;)

Hi joshua! Welcome to myLot! Yes you said it right, some, only some not all. There are also those who really strive hard to finish their education in order to find a better job. We know that we have a high competition in whatever field that we choose. As to becoming a millionaire perhaps there are also people who are just plain lucky and others who work hard. Whatever way, I hope we could also achieve that kind of status someday. As to being hardworking, I know also that there are people who possess that quality. Maybe there is just a reason for everything. But personally, I would not stop until I would be able to say to myself, yes I am successful! Have a nice day Josh!
