windows 8 is the one of the mile stone of micorsoft, its fast, resposive and reliable but yet you should not use as ur primary operating system ,There is a problem,as the free to download installer will overwrite your existing operating system without touching your files and accounts but u can install windows 8 alongside your normal operating system by the help of virtual box, for details visit virtualbox.org website and can enjoy both the OS, version avaliable for mac, solaris and linux as well

Yeah i totally agree with you. Windows 8 consumer preview is faster . My system index ratings in windows 7 for processor was 7.0/7.9 and for windows 8 it gave me a 7.1/7.9 for a 2nd generation core i5 and that is awesome. Virtual box lags my windows 8 ( i tried it)os so i dual boot my system with both windows 7 and windows 8consumer preview. And if you have time just download it and install it just for a try you will love it. Happy mylotting

Windows 8 consumer preview is not the final version of Windows 8, the official version will be released in 2013. I didn't find anything great in Windows 8, the concept of desktop menu is gone, it's more like what they have introduced in there windows 7 mobile version, I hate that stuff ....

Yeah i agree desktop menu is gone and is replaced with some other stuff suitable for a touch tablet and they are working on it.But the whole desktop experience is still there. Metro UI is just an addition to it. Yes I know its not the final version of windows 8 that is why they call it a "consumer preview", anyways i din't mention anywhere that it is the final version. This consumer preview only gives you some basic idea of how the windows 8 final will be there might be some changes or not and if any glitches we can report them and they will solve it for the final release that is the whole purpose of a consumer preview
