I lost my laptop - Planning to buy a new one myself!!

I lost my laptop in March last week. Someone had stolen it from my friend's room. My friend was using it and kept it in his room, locked. But it was stolen. I don't want top ask him for compensation as he doesn't have a sound financial background. I don't want to trouble my parents either. If I tell them, they will feel bad, but won't let me worry for that. They will take the burden and try to get me a new one. I don't want that to happen. I want to make money online and get a new lap and then tell my parents about the entire happenings. As of now, I have earned some $40 from microworkers and oDesk. I wish I could earn more money within two, three months and get a new laptop...

Well, first let me say that I am very sorry for you, that you have stolen the laptop. Of course, expect to buy one with the money you scrape through the internet, you have to work for a long, on sites that pay well (or intend to avoid scamm!). If this is your goal, then I will do my best wishes, wishing you good job. It would really be a great satisfaction if you should succeed in the objective. I'm with you!

Thanks for your wishes, friend. Yeah, I have to work really hard. I have to get it as soon as possible. So I have to put in extreme efforts. As you said, I will have great satisfaction once I achieve this. Also, my parents would be really very proud of me for having behaved mature enough.

I know you would be able to find yourself a good finance soon enough when you do more of your online earnings. your parents would really be worried, i am sure if you lost the laptop on your room shared with this person because you said it was locked, my thinking was that since it was a locked room it would have been destroyed and that someone knew about the things or valuables you guys have. I would be worried more about your safety there if you live with your friend.

Thanks for your concern, friend. Actually he lives in a different room. And yeah, there is some known person involved in this. We tried to track him down but couldn't get into things deeper. I'm damn sure he'll get caught one fine day and that is going to be his worst day ever... But that doesn't matter to me now. I must get a new laptop as soon as possible. Hope it happens at the earliest

I hope you will be able to buy a laptop soon. I am sorry that you lost your laptop. I think you should try to save money and cut down some expenses and also try to increase the income or other earnings to save money and buy your laptop yourself. I think most probably you should try to talk to your parents about it and most probably they might felt sad at the beginning, but I think they will support you about it.

Thanks for your concern, friend. Your idea is very good but I don't have much money to save. I spend very less, around Rs. 500 to 1000 (max) per month and all my expenses will be reasonable. I won't waste money. So, I can't save money. Moreover, I don't want to take my parents' money. I can't tell them also. As you said, they will be back to normal after some time. But till that time they will be sad which I don't want to happen. I will try as hard as possible and buy a new one soon . I'm currently working on Microworkers and oDesk. But my earnings are very slow as I'm not able to get any proper job on oDesk as of now. 
Hope I'll be fortunate enough to get some jobs there very soon. I would be very grateful if you could suggest me some sites where I can earn fast and high. Thank you.

You truly are a helpful and understanding friend , jevendiran. And i admire you for not wanting to burden your parents of buying a new one again.
Just continue earning money online. And that odesk online job of your , make it better so you could always be hired there. My nephew gets his earnings from there too. He is a web designer.
Meanwhile , bear not having a laptop yet. So, where do you do mylotiing now?

Thanks for your kind words, friend. I'm using my friend's laptop. We are in a educational training now. He brought laptop here and I brought my netcard so that I can work from here also and avoid wasting this time.

Ya, i know you have to work hard more to save money to buy a new one. I think it takes few months.

I am thinking that you will need to change the lock on that door or if there is a window, do the same thing or the new laptop will also be stolen when you get the new one and decide to lend your friend again. There are many methods to earn money on line. I just thought of Mechanical Turk, Cloud Flower and Rewarding Ways, which are all legitimate methods. If you do the tasks on Clixsence you can also earn quite a bit.

Thanks for your kind words, sir. I'm not comfortable with telling this to my parents. If I tell them what's happening, they won't let me do these works. They won't want me to earn money. This is what they would say 'Just concentrate on your studies. Don't worry of these things at this age. You didn't do any mistake. So forget it. We'll get you a new one'. I know how much they have to struggle to get me a new one. I don't want them to take that burden. I'm confident that I can make money online very soon.

i want to thank you for helping a friend in need.That was very kind of you.You could work here on mylot ,earn paypal money and then buy yourself a laptop on ebay . I use swagbucks and mylot ,i watch swagbucks tv and earn money and then i earn here too.I feel very sad for you that you that you had your laptop stolen.People are so desprate these days! I got my ipod nano stolen once.It wasn't as a big deal but you know everybody is dissapointed when their stuff is stolten.

Thanks for your kind words, friend. I just came to know about swagbucks from your comment. Hope I can make some cash from it. Yeah, many people are desperate these days. It is really very depressing when something we had treasured is lost. I loved my laptop sooo much. It was like my close friend. It taught me many good things... gave me so much knowledge... Apart from the money part, the loss of resources that I had stored in my laptop make me very much unhappy.... Hope things will get back to normal soon..

Oh, I feel really sorry for you. I know how you would have felt as I too underwent a similar situation few years back; but it was not my laptop, it was my mobile. I lost it from my friend's room but I couldn't ask her as I don't want to create any problems later on. I worked hard, saved money and bought a new one.
