Do you give flower to the person who died?

My colleague yesterday texted me and asked me if we want to visit our friend who's mother died of cancer. She also told me to bring flowers to offer for the mother who body lies at their house. Here in my country when we visit a wake we offer flowers and normally money to the relatives of the person who dies. How about in other country did you offer something for the dead?

Yes, but in my province we offers not just flowers but also candles, money, coffee and biscuits. It is part of our tradition and also to show our sincerely respect to them.

I rather give money than flowers.

It is pretty customary to send flowers here too. They are also usually taken to grave sites every so often. Usually for holidays or special occasions. Special days when they were alive.

Well, we live in the same country. But our family rarely brings flowers since otehrs already do that.. and then the room will be filled with those huge flowers..So what we do is just offer condolences and money since they need it more..

Giving flowers, whatever the occasion, signifies your feelings and your feelings towards the person you are giving the flowers to. Flowers can also indicate the person's character. When you are giving someone flowers you should consider what the flowers mean.
