It's June! Time for 'music in the park'. My granddaughter and I love going to this. Every Thursday evening from 6:30pm - 10pm people gather in the park to sit and/or dance to a live band. Families, friends, neighbors enjoy visiting with each other and listening to the music. Each Thursday is a different music genre- rock, country, jazz, blues, etc. There are usually a few vendors so we can have refreshments, or we can bring our own. They don't allow pets, although some people ignore this rule and bring theirs anyway. Actually, there's something going on in the park on Thursday evenings in the months of June, July, and August. Then in September we have the "Swamp Fox Festival" for a weekend from Thursday - Sunday. The festival is named after our town's WWI brigade 'Swamp Fox'. The park is only a few blocks from our house so we always walk. Since we live so close, people from farther away park their cars on our street and other streets that are close to the park. We don't mind since it's only once a week through the summer. It's a fun time!
