How do you get higher in rank?

I am sitting here night after night posting to discussions and starting a few. Now what do I find? I seem to be so much further behind in the ranks on all my interests. I have star rating of 9, which I think is okay. I am right about this or am I wrong.

I never even look at the ranks in topics, I like to try to keep my star ranking at ten, but sometimes it is hard. I think it is the same principle. How much you participate and how helpful your fellow mylotters view your contribution to be.

Thank you for responding. I see you are at ten right now. Good job! And your rating for this one was in the 200's. Mine isnt so good :( But I was thinking that I will spend time in each of my interests. That will ecourage me to post more anyways so its a bonus for my particiption here.
