Groupon and the alike?

I saw a good deal for a local museum I was hoping to take the kids to this summer thru MyPoints wich has started e-mailing me "special local offers". As many of you know one visit to most places is the cost of a yearly membership so you may as well get the membership and go more than once if you can for the same cost. I just wanted to know what other people's experiences were with buying thru them.

Honestly, I don't use groupon quite that often, and as matter of fact, I rarely visit groupon website and search for cheap daily deal. I figure that from time to time, I might lose my spending control, and eventually, I just keep buying more and more of something that I don't use a lot. So, on my saving mode now, I would rarely visit those shopping website.

They don't seem to have too many local deals too often. Like you I need to save and pay my debts rather than incurring more.
