Me and some office mates were talking about Lady Gaga regarding her concert here in the Philippines. She was taxed quite big by our country ( shame shame huh? i feel bad actually as there might be international artists who might be discourage in visiting the country oh well) then an office mate butted in and she said good for her, and i was like why did you say that? its bad for our tourism. She said good her because Lady Gaga is satanistic or into satan and is bad. I was like how could you judge her when in fact you do not really know her personally and she said look at her and her songs... well personally i am not a big Gaga fan but i do not hate her and say she is into Satan, we could not judge someone and assume she is bad just because she sings and dress that way. It is like saying those who are wearing punk, or into Goth or wear goth clothes - all b lack and emo and with those heavy eye liners are into satan as well! which i personally do not agree because i was in that phase before too, and i was not satanic. lol. we really could not judge someone according to their looks, according to their songs even as she might not even be the writer of those songs.. i am just amazed at how naive people could be.

Honestly, whether we admit it or not, as human we tend to be judgmental at times. We cannot avoid jumping into conclusions, not always maybe, but there are times we did it, intentionally or unconsciously. But of course, as long as we can hold our tongue, we keep it for ourselves. Sometimes we cannot stop expressing our thoughts. Maybe your officemate just want to share her thoughts about Lady Gaga. I do not like her either- but my opinion won't make any changes on her as well. Lady Gaga is already a popular celebrity - she has followers and some critics. In real life, regardless of celebrities or any other famous personalities- people always have this "first impression lasts" which most of the times gives wrong impression towards the person. Yes, how can we judge someone by the looks alone, or with first, two or three acquaintances. Living under one roof is not even enough to know the person we are living with -therefore, how can someone just throw stones to someone without conviction-. I wish I can always say "Who are you to judge me, him, her, they or them" ? (with matching taas ng kilay)

sometimes the best way to make someone shut his/her mouth is to throw the stone back to him/her (minsan nakakagigil di ba) - it's annoying - no matter how we wanted to hold our temper- it slips and we can't avoid saying " are you perfect" (duh- hehehe) I know someone in the neighborhood that always say negative to everyone as if she is the only righteous among the human species -grrrrr-

people judge another people is vary, a people judge some one from his cloth, and another people judge from his voice, and some people judge from his look, that mean there was people like all her album without look his look (voice only), then they become her fan with out knowing that another people say was satanic folower, and that make people divde into two, a fan, and anti fan.

For me, all of us has the right to express ourselves, this freedom includes what to wear, what to sing etc...and i think Lady Gaga is just enjoying such freedom.. But in the exercise of this freedom carries special duties and responsibilities, therefore subject to some restrictions when necessary or respect of the rights or reputation of others for the protection of public order and MORALS. Since, Philippines is known as a catholic country that adheres with the high moral and values, the organizer of Lady Gaga concert should take into consideration that, they should not include the song " Judas" in the concert. Lady gaga is fantastic, i like her.. but her song " Judas" is a NO No to me, i am a Roman catholic and Judas song is absolutely an insult to my faith...

when the song Judas came out, i was intrigued as to why the hype behind that song, but instead of judging it right away, i listened to the song and i found nothing wrong with it. I am also roman catholic but i have learned to be flexy when it comes to religion. Most of the catholics here view Judas as someone of a protagonist, someone who betrayed Jesus but as far as i know He was forgiven for what he have done. Though i do admit the lyrics were quite vulgar for Filipino taste...

for many people evaluate others is simply an essential element zycia.Bo, good estimates of others, do not stop them, but sometimes we should bite his moments of your language and think how awful we invented such opinions can harm someone.

Why do some people assume or judge in many ways to many people? My opinion for that is, maybe it's because they look different or act different from usual people do. I just think that maybe they are envious to those people who are able to express themselves freely and are true to themselves, even if they look weird, but that's how they feel of what they really are. Some people judge because they could not admit to themselves that they are stuck with the common trends and are "shy" to express what they really feel. "Playing-safe" as what you call it. We cannot judge those people who choose to be different from us. Whatever Lady Gaga believes in, it's actually NON of our business. If the way she looks is satanic or just her own fashion type, then it's totally up to her. She's just living freely in this world. And that's how we should live ours! Living in this world with what we truly believe in and not being scared showing it to others, even if people may disagree. It's YOUR business anyway, NOT THEIRS! I just admire Lady Gaga's guts and will to show what she really are inside despite all the criticisms and judgments, she never falls. Instead, it made her ALOT famous. And those who judged her? Where are they? Are they getting rich like her? Anyway, I'm not a Gaga fan. I'm just not into judgmental people. ^_^ Good day!

it is part of human nature to judge sad to say but then there are also some who cannot keep it to themselves but you are right their ranting gets nowhere as lady gaga can pretty much ignore and is still becoming richer by the minute people put attention to her.

Sometimes people don't understand difference. When there are stereotypes out there, sometimes it's taken as the truth. It's sad for me that people judge as it just adds to negative feelings like anger at different people and sadness at being singled out as different. Still, people should be allowed their opinions but I am always happy to meet a openminded person.

Many people who are really into religion tend to be that way. Almost everything in their lives, they see as good and evil. They should really see things in a different perspective. I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga but I also don't think she should be seen that way. She wears stupid stuff, maybe that's why she gets that kind of reputation, but you're right, it's unfair that she's tagged by some people as satanistic, or whatever, in a heartbeat.

True front, just because she wears this outrageous outfit she is bad plus i believe she wear those because she just wants attention and to earn money and i bet she really is earning money. big time.

Taxed how much? I've seen an episode of Failon ngayon several weeks ago and taxes were among those that he tackled. That was already after lady Gagas concert. I learned that foreign artists could be taxed as high as 25%. It's high but some experts claimed that Lady Gaga's talent fee could get as high as 50-60 million pesos, if we take 25% from than amount that's still a couple million pesos left. The city mayor also said that they're only getting 5% percent but records indicate that the city currently get's 10% which means that someone got away with the other 5%, failon claimed that the mayor made no comment on whose pocket the money went, maybe his. Going back to lady gaga, she was all over the news when there were protest about her being ungodly due to her songs and people came out with their opinions. Be it for or against lady gaga, we have to respect it. i just wish that people aren't so judgmental as if they're saints. If they don't like the artist, then the least they can do is not to buy their CDs or watch their concerts anyway it's pay per view.

Wow that is quite high for a talent fee, i have read that it is around 4M pesos tax.. that is still a lot for the government. i hope people should not be judging because see what these artists can bring, it brings revenue to the country!

That is just the way that some people are. That is really the saddest thing about it. In the end, it really doesn't matter. If you have a problem with something, then you don't pay attention to it, you don't invest any money in it. If you have a problem with what someone does, then just don't ruin it with a lot of the time a lot of the times. Yet people judge and by extension, try and force their opinions on other people as well. It is just that, an opinion. Something where there are many times where it is hard to deal with. In the end, believe what you want to believe and by all means, cast judgment but keep your judgment to yourself. Plus in the world of entertainment, pretty much everything is an image and sometimes only the barest reflection of the actual individual behind the entertainer.

Let's say it's true that Lady Gaga is Satanic, is she convincing everybody to be satanic through her songs? I listen to her songs and love some of them but never did i think that it has affected my faith in God or it has made me believe in Him less because of Lady Gaga. I just don't care what others think, I just don't mind them at all. They can also say i'm satanic for listening to her for all i care. It's really bad being judged when people hardly know us.

I agree with you. Firstly as you said we should not and have no reason to judge others, one is oneself, he will not change due to judgement from other else. On the other hand, if one who usually changes oneself because of estimate, is he/she really attractive? Especially people who are in art circle generally have more personality. But of course I don`t mean they should do odd things to catch attenton of the public, just say that they might have more edges and corners what even cannot be accepted.

I do believe that persons especially those into arts and entertainment do have tastes, attitudes that are beyond what we average people can do... and i even have my own things that i only like and is not also acceptable by some. all i can say is to each his own and in that way we learn to respect each other.

Filipino :) I am not also a fan of her, but her music especially when she had only started was really great and interesting. I really don't want to judge her because we really don't know her in a real and deep sense. Her bestfriend was a Filipino right? I couldn't imagine, how will she hate her country(men) because of this controversy. Anyway, i disagree with you that other foreign artists will be discouraged to pick Phil as their spot, unless they don't know the matters regarding gaga's.
