Who will be my new Best Friend?

Dachshund Puppy - This picture is of a dachshund puppy, with black and honey gold coloring. Due to this coloring it can be mistaken for a Doberman, but its oblong body sets it apart as a dachshund. Very adorable.

I am planning to get a dog very soon. But I live in India and that puts some restrictions on the breeds of the dogs that I choose from, due to India's hot weather. It seems that Alsatians, Dobermans, Pomeranians and Bull Dogs are fine, but they are really big and I am looking to get a small dog, maybe even a miniature. Pug is the latest trends in pets around here, but it scares me sometimes due to its unusual face. If nothing better seems apparent soon, I will opt for a pug. Can anyone please suggest a breed of dog that is adorable, cute, small in stature [so I can keep it indoors], will adjust well in India and is not to expensive to obtain? I think I am asking a lot, but any suggestions will be welcome.

I suggest you to study a few sites dedicated to small dog breeds and you'll find a breed to fall in love with. I could suggest you a Welsh Corgi, one of the small (in fact small to medium) breeds that I like. But you can't be sure you have the same tastes as I have and it will probably be difficult to buy one in your country. Here's an interesting site dedicated to small dogs: http://www.toybreeds.com/

I have a cute dog.I think you can buy Akita inu or Bichon Frise. Those types of dogs are very very adorable and their face is very beautiful. Those are not very big and you can easiy keep it indoors.I think it will be your one of the best friend.

a Pomeranian is a nice pet to keep indoors. it's small, hairy but not much and it's cute. I just don't know if it's allowed in your country but i hope so..

Yes, it is allowed in my country. My cousin has one of those in pure whites, but I think they are very playful and active, and they would not be very happy to stay indoors. They need a bigger yard to run around. I want something with less hair, as my mother is completely against dog hair in the house. She does not like dogs at all, but I love them.

I'll tell you that a Shih Tzu. I adopted one. I've always had active dogs, so when I got this breed I was like, "What?" All it does is sleep all day, lol. I talked to another owner, and they said the same thing, they are sweet and just love to lay around all the time. Of course, mine was over ten years old when I adopted him. So, I just let him do what he wants, because he is old. But that is a good, small and quiet breed that does not require much play time, just a nice comfy pillow :D.
