I dont think its good to facilitate kids with new gadgets. Technology is something important but not too important at very early age. Technology must be introduce to kids step by step, start from easy stuff. I wiil never give my elementry kids new smart mobile or ipad or anything like that. I will give PC, not ipad, cos I want to control what he do with that gadget.

I think if the child has an interest for it then we shouldn't hinder them exploring. My youngest boy is only 3 and he is very technically inclined with computers and ipads, his 5 year old sister doesn't know how to do most the things on the computer the way he does, she has no interest. The difference between the 2 of them is that he already knows how to read and he teaches himself, even the computer he learned all on his own. He even shopped on facebook games! But I had to refute the charges because he isn't allowed to shop and they didn't have a password protection to confirm the order. They did give us the money back but now I have to make sure when he plays games on facebook he is on the fake page.

Well very honestly i find a lot of disadvantages with the children using new released gadgets. In fact i dont find it necessary for a child to have any relationship with mobile phones or ipods. At such a tender age, a child should stay focussed with his studies and extra curricular activities.

The disadvantages are more than the advantages. The children will spend most of their time with their gadgets. In my country, many children have Blackberry. I said "WTF?". They spend most of their time by chatting in their BB. The gadgets sometimes can help them but don't let them have it.
