My Lil Toe Nail Fell Off :(

I banged up my little toe way back in February pretty well, it still hurts at times and was discolored for all those months too. This morning in the shower I noticed the entire nail was coming off. So I took a clipper and cut it off. Now I have never had this happen with any nail before. Do I cover it with a band-aid or just let it grow back? Will it get infected? Has a nail ever come off on you this way? What were the circumstances? It doesn't hurt right now at all. Do you think I could still do my foot soaks with the nail off? I only use warm water and epsom salts.

My toe nail came off one time when my brother ran the glass sliding door to the closet over it. Fine to remove the deadened nail and put a bandaid over it in the beginning just bemuse it will provide a little barrier to your now probably over sensitive toe. Soaking it in warm water and Epson salts works well too. Make sure to watch that it is growing back correctly...if not a trip to the dr. Is in order.
