Hello, waxing in parlors is quite costly and at home its messy, so I am thinking to buy an epilator..I want to clear some doubts before buying it like, which is better waxing or using epilator? using epilator regularly is okay or it harms to skin in any way? what is the right way to use an epilator etc....share your experience if you are using an epilator.

I think an epilator would be better than waxing. I have tried waxing in the past, and like you said, it gets so messy, and also painful! It also doesn't always work as well as I want it to. I have never tried an epilator, but I remember one of my friends used to always use one, and she seemed to have lots of good things to say about it. It looked like it was really easy to use also, and without all that mess. I have been wanting to get one for the longest time, but have had a difficult time finding one. I will have to keep an eye on this discussion to see what other people say, too!

Hi elisa, now i have an epilator and i can share my experience with you..its really good, easy and better than waxing as i felt..i searched in local market here first but did not found one..then i asked to someone in nearest city over the phone and searched it on many online shopping sites..finally i got the desired model on a site with 28% discount :D I feel like, all my hard work and searches are not going to waste..i got the newest model in a cheaper cost than market and it really works very good..i found 3 more attachments with it including a massage-head and some more things like ice-gel pad and an exfoliation gloves :)

I don't really like doing either, because I am not very good with pain and both of these things cause pain. I think that if I had to choose one of the methods I would choose epilation because it doesn't tend to hurt quite as much as waxing would, even though it would take a lot longer so it depends whether you want a quick fix or not. I hate shaving because of the fact that you constantly have to do it every couple of days or the hair will grow back again. At least if you wax or epilate you know that you're going to be able to be relatively hair free for at least a couple of weeks.

Hi gemma, i got my epilator and felt, it is better than waxing, i also do not like shaving because it does not gives such smoothness like waxing or epilation, i hate the small needles like growth after two days of shaving..i got my epilator around two weeks ago and used it that day and it is still smooth.. :D

Epilator is way better than waxing. It is less painful although it does pain a bit. Also as it pulls the hair out, the next time the hair comes out they are thinner and hair growth is also slow. Which is like a long time plan and so the frequency of use decreases with each use. How to use it is different for different people. The best way is to take bath with shower gel to reduce pain. Then use epilator at right angle with the body and opposite to the direction of hair growth. The next step is important and that is to apply cream on the body else red spots will start to come over the skin because of hair getting pulled. Hope it helps in making you decision.

Okay ouch that sounds painful. The epilator pulls out multiple hairs at at time. If you try this I do want to hear how that goes. It hurts to tweeze my eyebrows I couldn't imagine other more sensitive places.

Hi natnickeep, I got my epilator and i am really happy with it. :) I used it on my legs first and felt a very little sensation just like when you pluck your eyebrow, after a few seconds i was comfortable with it. I t was not painful as i thought..i think, how much painful it is for a person depends on many factors like, how much pain can you bear, how much growth of hairs is or how much hard are hairs..experience may vary from person to person..for me it feels like, i did a good investment :D
