I went here a couple years ago and had a bad time, but did see a lot of beautiful scenery, and got lots of good pictures. My wife thought the waterfall was worth the entire trip. The trip was for her birthday. Have you ever been to this park?

Hello dansazz I haven't been to Yellowstone National Park, but I would like to see it as I imagine that it truly is beautiful scenery. It sounds like it was a nice birthday gift for your wife. Why did you have a bad time? Did it have to do with the park?

Many years ago as a kid I was there with my family. It was awesome. We loved the outdoors and the hiking and all. Beauty of that park is off the scale...at least 45 years ago it was! I would be willing to bet it isn't like that anymore with so much tourism and people dont' take care of things like they used to...tossing trash out, grafitti, things like that.Throw in the price of admission..it was free back then! I am glad you got to see somethings, and sad you didn't have a good time. I do think tho, that in a situation like this...you have to do some camping to get the full impact of the park and what it means. Just going for the day or staying at the hotel..just isn't what the park is all about. Camp, hike, wander around, learn the history of it..that is what makes a good visit to a national nature park.

Yes it is defiantly not like I'm sure it use to be. We live in the area so it was convenient for us. I would not go back, but I'm sure it was fantastic back then, it's a shame things are not so pure any more.
