it is worth the trip to go there!!! my daughter and i went to manila zoo(here is the link of my discussion to our visit to manila zoo,http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2666877.aspx?p=1#2_23509179) during the first week of june and one reason we went there was to visit 'kinder zoo' as well. kinder zoo adventure jungle is located within the manila zoo compound and features a wide array of animals one would normally see in tv shows and books. the kinder zoo features animals such as the albino python, the burmese python, the cayman crocodile, a couple of pot-bellied pigs, horses, tortoises, gibbons, and different species ofbirds and parrots. aside from getting the chance to see the animals up close and personal, you can also get your picture taken with these adorable creatures. my daughter wasn't in the mood to get her photo taken but she was not shy taking pictures of her dada (that's me, along with the butterflies, the parrots, the burmese python, and the cayman crocodile). aside from the animal interaction, one can also partake any of these activities, animal/bird/fish feeding, horse-back riding, wallclimbing, swimming in their kiddie pool, and using their zipline. i must admit that the main reason why we wanted to go to the 'kinder zoo' was because my daughter wanted to try the zipline. so far the ziplines that we've seen are for grown-ups only so it was really a joy for both of us to see a zipline for kids. anyway, i got a discount voucher from an online shopping site for 'kinder zoo' (here are my discussions about discount vouchers and online buying sites, http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2672673.aspx and http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2657147.aspx) so i immediately set a date for our trip there. when we first got to manila zoo, my daughter and i decided to explore the zoo first since it is her first time going there. we looked at the animals, took pictures, and she also played at the playgrounds in the zoo (there were two playgrounds). we had reserved the visit to 'kinder zoo' for last. so after going through manila zoo for at least three times (i couldn't for the life of me remember why we had to go through the zoo three times. perhaps my daughter wanted to see the elephant and zebras again.) we finally went to the 'kinder zoo'. so the first thing that you'll see in the kinder zoo are the zipline and wallclimb area. also near the entrance is the photobooth for the burmese python and cayman crocodile plus a lego set of tigers. the lego sets made all throughout the 'kinder zoo' are quite impressive as well. we decided to walk through the whole zoo first before deciding on what activities we will partake. of course, its a given that my daughter will try the zipline! the 'kinder zoo' is well-maintained. there are a good number of different species of birds plus fishes. there's also a pool for tortoises and turtles which my daughter enjoyed watching. we also saw two pot-bellied pigs that roam freely around the 'kinder zoo' grounds. we weren't impressed with the pot-bellied pigs at all. lol! my daughter thought they were gross. hahahahahahaha! next up were the gibbons who were playfully swinging in their cages. the horse was getting its bath during that time as well. there were also a couple of kids taking a dip at the kiddie pool. no, the horse and kids weren't sharing the pool! lol! there were also a good number of different species of birds. the ones that me and my daughter noticed was the same type of bird featured in the animated movie 'rio'. anyway, after going through the 'kinder zoo', my daughter and i decided to avail of the butterfly garden, the bird feeding, and two rounds of zipline for her. the trip to the butterfly garden wasn't eventful. it was fun and my daughter enjoyed taking pictures of the butterflies that were in my palm. she passed on the bird feeding as well. i fed the birds and had the birds stay on my fingers, arms, and shoulders. she took pictures of that as well. our last stop was the zipline. i could tell that excitement was building in my daugther. there was no hesitation in her part when she stepped on the platform to start the zipline. of course, the protective father that i am, i had to check her harness before giving her the go signal to jump off the platform and start the fun. i took pictures and a video of her two zipline runs. she was a happy camper after trying the zipline. on the way out, i posed for a picture with the burmese python with my daughter giving me instructions on how to hold the python for the photo. yes,she is a budding photographer in the making. i'll have to start a mylot discussion one of these days about her interest in photography. anyway, over-all, it was a good trip to 'kinder zoo'. i highly recommend it as an alternative place to go through if you're tired of bringing your kids to the mall. it is also a good place to go with friends as it offers a very different but nonetheless good vibe. so my fellow mylotters, have you been to the 'kinder zoo'? what was your experience there? what activities did you try out? did you have as much fun as we did? if you haven't been to 'kinder zoo, would it be a place that you'd be interested to go to? why or why not? feel free to chime in my fellow mylotters. cheers and have a great day everyone!!!
