I am not really sure what the real definition of that is, but i think it is the movies from the time of Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte.. They are quite nice, since it's fun to see how people were like at that time. When they were so polite to each other and the place was still beautiful.

Oh wow...do I LOVE these kinds of films. AMC's Pride and Prejudice was 6 hours of pure joy. I don't know why I love them so. I mean, I love horror, sci fi and action films...why I love Jane Austen so much, I've no idea. Most of them are on Youtube. I've watched each and every version of Bronte's Jane Eyre, and find each and every one of them extremely interesting on how they handle the story. I believe, it is because these men take the time to get to know the woman. They are written well, and performed well. If you like these types of romances, then, perhaps it would be good for you to check out Korean Dramas. 'Korean Dramas?' you say? Believe me, these are amazing. if you go to www.mysoju.com and watch Boys Over Flowers, I mean, it starts out a little slow, so give yourself to episode 5 before you make your mind up. They have very much the same sensibilities as do the Period pieces, in regards to romance. Very good stories. Good Topic! Take care!

I am planning on downloading lots of other period tv series too.. I just finished Pillars of the earth.. I watch Korean dramas too, but i haven't seen a good one recently.. the story seems redundant.. and predictable now.

hi, I do like period movies but i prefer old movies a lot because it has a good meaning in it, and moreover it can be enjoyed with full family including children, older persons. Even i like to see horror movies too e.g the omen, Dracula etc.

I am not so fond of older movies since i do not like their acting much.. or is it because i chose the wrong ones.. The old movies i have seen are just a few : Ben Hur, 10 commandments, Sound of Music.. all of those i liked. The others i forgot since they were awful..

hello, Like you i am also a fan of period movies. I dont know why I like those kind of movies. Maybe the stories of those times are so pure and the characters are so real. They are different from our times in so many ways. So it's a good escape medium for me. I like them so so much.

Yes, i love the stories and the characters too/ Mostly, i like the manner and how beautiful and unpolluted the places were. It would be hard to find a real gentleman in these modern times..everyone's s liberated.

Yes, movies like those are nice.. they are mostly romance movies, so i don't watch them much.. The only period film i know is the Pirates of the Carribbean films.. I hope they make more period movies which are action.. but i highly doubt it.

I am planning on seeing Downtown abbey since the couple looks so cute and the girl is so pretty. I seems like the same setting as North and South.. with the industrialization?
