Do you keep windows open while sleeping?

My room is on a lower level so I close it and it gets stuffy even with a fan on. We live in a decent area, nothing usually happens. But I know I would lay awake worrying about it. I put both fans on and left my door open with the baby gate across. Can you sleep with your windows open at night?

Bedroom delight - Sleep boys, sleep!
When the night is cool then I do allow windows open so we could save on electricity.I feel safe even if we sleep with windows open because we live in a safe village and besides all windows are covered with grills and screened as well. It gives us fresh air and nice feel of the cool surroundings. But during summertime we can't manage without aircon. With this of course we have to close all windows.

How are you saving electricity? Do you have ac? We dont have ac to begin with so it doesnt matter. I slept with my window open last night and tonight, but with society and the crime on the rise in this area it took me awhile to fall asleep.

Yes we do have ac in the master bedroom which we use mostly during summertime. But during rainy and cold days we don't turn that on to save on electricity. We can sleep with windows open because anyway our gate is well-secured apart from the fact that all windows are screened and surrounded with grills.

I can never sleep at night with the windows open. Perhaps in the day, I will let the windows open because I would probably just take a short nap but at night it's not just dangerous but that will also invite the mosquitoes in. But there were times when the electricity was out at night and it's so hot inside the house then I had to leave the windows open. But once the electricity came on again, I will definitely close all the windows.

I haven't opened my bedroom window because I want to keep the humidity out as much as I can.

I keep the windows open because if we don't it is really hot especially if the weather is not rainy. but if its raining hard, we keep it closed as the water gets inside the room. hehe

I always keep them shut although there is no problem even if keep them open because our windows are properly grilled and netted. But as we do use AC in summers and winters are too cold we simply cannot keep them open in either of these two weathers, we open them some times in rainy season while there is no AC on and air is filled with earthen smell. Cheers.

Yes I do sleep with window open many times. We live on third floor of a building and we have a watchman at the society entrance, so we feel safe keeping the windows open. We have a closed compound wall so it also makes us feel safe for letting the window open.

since we live in a 5 level condo, it would take some doing to break in. also, the houses are close enough together that not much really happens in our area. i do close our kitchen window and the patio door (which are the only two windows on the main level) but we we have a back fence and gate which again would be a deterrent. when the weather permits, i do keep the window open (it sure would take some doing to break in the window and i should think the noise would wake us all up.)

I like sleeping with the windows open, but I live on the third floor so I'm not very worried about burglars or the like. I love waking up in the middle of the night and having fresh air. The last place I lived was on the first floor, and we had to keep the windows closed all the time due to the less than stellar neighborhood, and it got so hot and stuffy all the time. That's part of why we moved.

During summer here in our country it is really hot even at night time. We did not have aircon in our room so we left our windows open to have fresher air and better circulation. Good for us that our room is located on the 2nd level and we are not that worried about stealers. On the other hand, during the cold weather we just keep the windows closed at night. Good day

Yes, of course.. since there is a barricade of some sort.. a steel that is placed on the window so no one can get in.. and i am in the second-ish floor too. I do get scared by the bats flying back and forth in the night hitting trees.

I live in eastern part of india, though it's the beginning of our rainy season, still the weather is hot and humid here.so we have to open most of our windows in night while sleeping, otherwise the single fan can't make the room little bit cool.

I used to forget to close the window when I am sleeping but my mom always check it and closed it. Thanks mom. It is better to sleep while the window is open even just a bit to feel good and freshness of nature but bugs and insect used to enter the house so better close it.

Hello there, Right now we are in summer, so I will just leave my window open when I sleep. If ever I close it, it is going to be really hot in this kind of weather. I will begin to sweat and I won't be able to enjoy a nice sleep afterwards.

I never put my windows open during sleep.at night it is very cold if we open the windows. And furthermore there are a lot of insect may come in. During day time, it is rather dusty, so it is better to close the windows. I only rely on ventilation hole which has screen on it. So the air can exchange but the insecct not.

I live in an old house that my father had built nearly 80 years back.Rooms in this house are not spacious. My bedroom is the smallest of them.Rats share our house with us and this has worsened the situation. If I keep the doors of my room open, rats would enter it and eat up all my books that are so invaluable for me.So doors are kept shut. And if I shut the window of my room at night,it would be too hot there. Therefore I keep the window open while sleeping.

I sleep with my windows open most of the summer. I prefer the fresh air to the air conditioner, especially at night time when it has cooled off some. I occasionally open the windows in the winter but don't usually sleep with them open as it's much too cold.
