I really love to travel. When I was a younger person I traveled on a very low budget. I stayed in dorms in backpacker hostels. I found those friendly places where I got cheap ideas for more traveling from other more experienced travelers. I train pass can save much money like an inter rail. I managed to afford to travel around the world by letting out my cottage and getting a working holiday visa for Australia. There I worked as a children's nanny, a factory packer and a charity collector. If I was a single person I would try out couch surfing and I have already enjoyed camping in my tent.

You could join some travel groups. Travelling in groups save you transportation expenses such as gasoline, toll fees etc. You could split it several ways so that the amount you'll actually shell out is much lesser than travelling alone.
