Tired of getting calls from telemarketers!!

My cell phone always rings with numbers from out of state. I usually try to answer them because my boyfriend is in boot camp right now and I always worry he might try to call me from a different number and i'll miss it. So far, he's never done that and it's always some automated message. I listen to it just to see if I can somehow get my number taken off the list. It seems that I take my number off one list only to have a new number bothering me. I get calls at work and sometimes at night. I'm tired of it and today and yesterday I got another one. I was working for yesterday's call but I answered the one I got today. I picked up and there was only silence on the other end for a few seconds and then they hung up. I couldn't even get my number taken off the list! I'm so fed up with calls like this.
