I haven't yet seen the Dark Shadows movie. Mrs. Turner and I are currently watching the original Dark Shadows on Netflix. So far it is entertaining in ways that it is not supposed to be because it's rather horrible. We are, however, persevering and plan to watch the entire series (if we can stand it.) We are hoping that it will get better.
I would imagine that a movie spoof about the original show would be a lot of fun. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll be keeping an eye out for it when it goes to DVD.

The original (1966) version drags on a bit. They DRASTICALLY changed it for the 1992 version. It's condensed, and set in the modern (as of 1992, anyway) day. I found it MUCH easier to watch.

I guarentee you will like the movie ten times more than the sattire.
Johnny Depp and Tim burton really made a good movie!

I have seen this movie. I saw this movie because I am a huge fan of Johnny Depp. I like almost all of his movies and I think he is one of the finest actors of the world. I became a fan of Depp after watching Pirtaes of the caribbean 1. He just blew my mind with his portrayal of Captain Jack sparrow. After that I started watching all of his movies. Dark shadows is a good comedy. Here Johnny Depp plays a Vampire and Eva Green plays a Witch. It's a nice movie. But compared to other movies of Depp and Burton, this one is not that good. It's good for a one time watch. If you like johnny depp then you should go for it.

Funny movie but i feel something missing in this movie.
Maybe this movie not as a good as pirates of carribean.

Actually, it follows pretty faithfully the story line of Barnabas mostly the first 2 seasons, except that the doctor was Barnabas' friend really in the show, not a drunk like she is in the movie.
Yes, there is some comedic moments as Barnabas gets acquainted with the 20th century, but it really isn't a comedy spoof.
Yes, I was a fan of the original show...

I plan to watch it too when i get to have the time. I love J.Depp and i know movies with Tim burton are great too, both always make movies together.

Actually, it was supposed to be based on the TV series "Dark Shadows" from the '60's that was remade in the '90's. As an interpretation of the TV series, it was awful, but as a spoof of vampire movies, it was great.

I have not seen it yet, but would like to. I like almost anything Depp is in. I didn't watch the tv show, so I don't know how close they stayed to it. The previews make it look like it will be more comical than I remember the previews for the show being.

Yes! I've already seen and watched the whole movie and I enjoyed it a lot! Especially the humor of Johnny Depp! :)
