hello mylotters, im very angry about this. I submitted a criminal record check for a volunteer position im at. ive never done any crimes but the information officer calls me and says that 2 incidents where i attempted suicide will be on my record check, in canada suicide is not a crime and i thought this was my personal medical business. so they send it to my job with some 'minor may or may not have happened' checked off this appears worse than just coming out and saying it, this seems like she may or may not have robbed a bank. he quoted the mental health act did not explain to me in detail. have you ever had this show up? is suicide attempt private in your country or province/state? and do you think anyone should have the right to know, is it my medical info being given out?
if it was relevant than they should give the whole truth, or cant they would it violate my privacy?
