I have just put up my shop. I secured myself a DTI, mayor's permit and the COR (certificate of registration). I still have not attended the BIR seminar that the country holds every friday. I was told by the BIR officer that i can provide sales invoice as i am into trading. I am just curious, shouldnt i be securing an official receipt instead? She said that i am not offering any service like doctors and lawyers do, hence the appropriate item that i should be issuing is sales invoice. To those who are into trading, im curious... do you issue sales invoice or OR??? I know i should be confident because that is what the BIR lady advised me but what about those in the malls? They issue OR and im pretty sure that they are into trading as well.

That is one corrupt BIR official,( probably awaiting some tipssss) Its the OR that the BIR audits not the Sales invoice. The Cash register in the malls issues OR as prints that comes out the machine. You are definitely talking about the Philippines. Am I right just right. ( same thing happened to me)
