It was a breakthrough in me. I've been praying for a month that I will receive the Holy Spirit but I never did. Whenever we worship, my seatmates would speak in tongues and cry out their hearts to the Lord and I'm so happy for them. I wondered when will my time be. 2 days ago, I received it and then again this afternoon. I felt God's presence and I felt so light and wonderful. I cried out to the Lord thanking him over and over again but the words coming out of my mouth were not the words I wanted to say. All my shame were gone and I stood for four hours praising God. I never felt a trace of fatigue and I wanted to soak in God's presence. After the worship,I felt I was not my my old self anymore. God is so wonderful. If we seek him, we feel a different kind of satisfaction and joy that you will put Him above anything else. God is awesome! This is my testimony.

If you are a true believer in Him your prayer would be fulfilled, which you say you cried because He have granted your prayers.

Right. My prayers were answered because I sought Him with all of my heart. God listens to all prayers. 1. If he doesn't grant it: the praying person has wrong motives 2. If He doesn't grant it that time you asked for it there's time for the answer. He needs the praying person to do something more.. 3. He grants it

You are wrong there my friend.God did not grant the prayers because his faith towards God is not as heavy as what he is asking,so why should God grant someone with a plain asking.God knows what you really wanted and what you have beg from Him,so the proper way to ask Him is prayers from the heart not just plain asking but ask with all your heart, that God could grant what you like and not just that he could give you much more than what you have beg him to give you,and that is you healthy body,Amen!!!

If I prayed and prayed, it means I have faith to persist in asking.

No, midnightmom. I didn't understand what I was saying. The person speaking in tongues does not understand what he himself is saying but someone will always understand and will interpret. In my case, nobody interpreted it. I was not the only one speaking in tongues that time. In Acts 2, when the disciples received the Holy spirit and when they spoke in tongues, they, themselves didn't understand what they were saying but the people who were watching heard and said the disciples were speaking in their language. When someone speaks in tongues, it means he has received the Holy spirit. The purpose of this speaking in tongues is to 'be used in worshipping God'. It's for yourself not for 'the other people'. There will always be someone who will interpret it but not yourself. The only source of the Holy Spirit is God. If you received it, you will not have control over your actions and your mouth because the Holy Spirit is doing it. You may cry, scream, speak in different language, walk around, clap your hands, bow down repeatedly, etc. when you are experiencing the Holy spirit, you will feel very peaceful and there's a different joy inside of you that you want to feel and enjoy forever and that you want to praise God more and more.

OIC. Very. Good point that they themselves could not understand but others did. I guess I have not been baptized by holy spirit. I admit it kind of frightens me to have no control I think but I do want to be blessed... as u are :)

I received the Holy spirit when I was 16. I didn't pray for it but came at the time I needed it. I spoke in tongue and my uncle who is a pastor interpreted it. Since then, a lot of things in me changed and I have this desire to seek the Lord more and more because it gives a satisfaction.. God is awesome indeed!

My mother receive it and i want to also. She doesn't speak in tongues but every time she raise her hand to pray for somebody's healing, her hand would shake and she herself cannot stop it.

Praying to the Lord in all earnestness without a single thought of ill feeling or malice will definitely save us from the difficulties of everyday life.It is in Him that we must put all our trust and dedication on.God has His own ways ...but He will surely be saving us.Praise the Lord!
