My foremost advice is for you and your daughter to use one of your self-made handbags. use it confidently. That is a great way to promote your bags. Second, is to give handbags to your friends or relatives whom you know are socially active. In that way, you wi get dual benefits - you get to give gifts and promote your bags as well. I think that investing (not just in money, but in effort and time as well) in marketing and publicity is one of the key factors in getting the business going. good luck!

Starting a business is hard. I started doing nails out of my home recently and am surprised at how well it seems to be picking up. But the thing about nails is they can be done about every other week, whereas baskets last a while, and don't need to be replaced. So I'm afraid I have no "legit" advice. I'm getting my biz going by word of mouth, so if your baskets are really nice and you get people talking about them, it should bring you something. Good luck!
