OK instead of paying $40.00 bucks for a blanket at the store I decided to just buy the fabric myself, and make it myself to bring the cost down a little, but I'm not quite sure how many yards of fabric to buy for a full twin size bed So how many yards of fabric do I need for a full twin size bed correct measurements needed thanks?

You should measure the size of the bed. If I am not mistaken a twin bed is 48 inches wide and 75 inches long. So if you are going to buy cloth there are also three types of cloth as to size the single width, double width and triple width. You can choose the triple width because mostly this king of cloth is really intended for beddings. You can buy at least 2 1/2 yards. That would be enough for a blanket. By the way how much is the cost of the cloth per yard? At least you compare which is better.

Apples, Aries have said it all and have even gone to the extent of giving the right measurement but you have to be sure and take the measurements yourself so you could be sure of the size of material you need but one thing I would like to add is that on both sides you should make the measurements 4 inches longer than the actual site so you could get extra loose material for any design you would what to put at the edges. Am really happy that you are so conventional and appreciate saving extra bucks and not putting anything to waste. Hope other people could learn from you and we all can save more on things that are necessities.

I haven't tried my blanket on any beds yet I just used it on the couch for cold nights but the one fleece blanket that I have is 4 yards long and I think its length is the best because it is good as just a throw or if you decided to use it as a full cover up blanket it is long enough for that as well. My husband is 5'9 and it will reach to cover his toes and even stretch up enough to cover his shoulders. I have been wanting to make my own fleece blanket as well even though I have two already you can never have enough blankets especially if you have quests over and besides both of the blankets I do have I didn't make, my mother in law made one and my niece made the other so it would be nice to have one I made myself and maybe even one for each of my kids to use and keep as they get older.
