Education has been an integral part of human existence especially during the modern times as it allows people to perform well in the society. It answers the questions that curious people have inside their heads about the world where they belong. In addition, education also possesses the capacity to add functional abilities to persons so they can help themselves and the others around them. In the fast pacing of the world today, change has been inevitable as knowledge and technology advance quickly. Computers and the internet have been very popular from gaming to business processing and even education. People can work anywhere and anytime they want as long as they have the computer and internet access. The same applies for businesses as they can conduct their sales and administrative functions through remote workers and automated systems. In education, learners and educators are separated in time and space as the former are guided by videos, audios, modules, independent assignments, online games and online forums. With so many opportunities that the development can offer, people may get entrapped into an endless confusion. They may ask where to start. Good news for those who do not know where to start since some educators have been developing strategies to assist learners to have a wider perspective than before. It is not only about globalization that connects one society, culture, and nation to another but also considers the individuals as learners and humans. Their path in life truly matters as it serves as the guiding light to their progress and learning. Holistic education answers the need for finding the ultimate purpose in life. Once it has been found, the learners will set forth some goals and objectives from that premise to create operating plans and day-to-day activities that will move them toward their own paths in life. Holistic education does not know any boundaries as it promotes oneness, openness and respect for individuals. Connection serves as a key to the aforementioned philosophy of education as collaboration is promoted through team buildings and immersions of people in various environmental settings. In addition, it promotes experiential learning which allows the students to explore and learn actually performing the needed tasks. In holistic education, experience is the best teachers as educators are present as guides instead of just teaching the techniques to the learners. It serves as an alternative way of learning where students are viewed as intelligent and in their own ways and assessments are done holistically. Usually grades do not serve as the only basis in education as qualitative means can also serve as good assessment scheme which the holistic education tries to promote. It is up to the learners if they will immerse themselves and let the holistic education guide them in their quest for learning and achieving their purpose in life.
