you receive a present you unlike, how to do?

today i receive a pair of new shoes from a fellow worker in another office of my Bureau, but the problem is i do not like that style fashion. i am not sure i could change another style? if i would change, my fellow worker will be unhappy more or less?

Honesty is the best policy. You have to be true to yourself. I would exchange for a pair of shoes you like and if the co-worker makes comment tell them the truth. I think it is important to be true to yourself and honest with others. If you are and they know that is what they can expect they may be more apt to be that way themselves. Sort of a ripple effect.

yes,you are very right celticeagle. But the only thing i am afraid is whether i will hurt my co-worker's good heart. That is not i expect. Thanks for your response from which i can learn a lot .

hi wei,
This happened to me a friend gave me a blouse but it doesn't fit at me I don't complain I did not request to have a bigger size instead I keep it.
The essence of she remember me and give a effort to give me something is priceless.

Be grateful for what you have received and accept it with all your heart without complaining. You are too blessed that someone had tought of giving you something when others don't. Enjoy the blessing though you didn't like it that much but still be thankful for it.

Oh my that's a difficult situation. I think you should use it for a while so your friend can see it and be happy cause after all this person must have bought the shoe your friend most thought suited you and it was beautiful, but then you can't really use cause it's something to wear right? Clothes and shoes are really something personal, we must feel great about it and only give as a present if we see the person saying they love that. My mom is still trying give me clothes and I felt horrible cause I told her that I like the buying feeling but still there is 4 shirts I don't use and it's there.
But I think you could give it to charity then, there might be a homeless with your shoe size or either you can keep it and sometimes you get used to things we don't like by just looking at it for long

You don't have to wear it, don't you? And if ever he asks why he never sees you wear it, maybe you can tell a little white lie, like you would want to but it doesn't fit right, or something like that. Like you, I hate offending someone who has just given me a gift. Sometimes, there are things best left unsaid in order to prevent hurting other people.
