Unusally different from those mothers who have already given birth, I really have a hard time gaining weight for several years now. It makes me significantly conscous also that many have been telling me to gain some weight because of my frail look. I don't know what causes this but before getting married I even used to skip meals and do some regular exercises just to slim down. Ironically now, no matter how much I eat (even those fattening foods) everyday, I can't seem to sufficiently gain any weight at all. It even led me to thinking one time that maybe I have a serious illness that just doesn't show any symptoms but when I went to my doctor for some tests, everything seemed to come out normal. I have a hard time swallowing those huge supplements sold in the market so, I stopped taking them and this may be one reason also for my difficulty in gaining weight. Been looking for a liquid vitamin supplements that can effectively help me gain weight fast. Would highly appreciate helpful thoughts and ideas from anyone...

When my sister lost weight after a bout of depression and after undergoing surgery, she took mass gainers. I just don't know if they were prescribed by her doctor(s) but she did gain weight and mass. And by the way, she is a nurse in the US. She brought home the unconsumed mass gainers.

Well,my personal experience is that there is no sure shot formula of gaining weight. However, do not go for unhealthy, fatty foods. They could cause more illness. Instead, try full cream milk, have it with Bananas, Raisins and bread. Also, have plenty of cheese. Slightly increase your intake of butter(too much would however cause more blood pressure). If you eat eggs, increase their intake in your diet. Also add more Soyabean in your diet. See if it helps.

when you went to the doctor for some tests, did s/he include tests for your thyroid? maybe you need to read about hyperthyroidism and discuss this with your medical professional.

There are times, even if you eat and pampered with vitamins. If it is in your genes, then you are not going to gain weight. This can be seen in you family members or the in your family tree. At younger age, metabolism is to metabolize the food intake, that's normal.
