Pastime

I have been collecting pdf versions of old pugilism manuals, and sure enough, I am trying some of the techniques being taught in those manuals as a form of exercise for me. Lately there has been a resurgence of this once lost art, as exemplified by a sanctioned bareknuckle boxing match held last year. I hope that somebody here share the same interest as I am on this art.

Glad to hear that. Actually it's an old art, popular in England in the 18th and 19th centuries. The stances and defenses are quite different from that of modern boxing, but the scientific principles of punching is the same: the power of your punches does not come from your arms, but from the simultaneous movement of your entire body to throw your weight onto your fist. There's a lot of free online literature regarding this art, PDF versions of classic manuals available.
