Do you like root beer?

I live in a family that loves root beer. Whenever we have parties or outings they always buy root beer. They say it tastes so good especially when it's icy cold. I however, hate it. I tried drinking it just because everyone said it was so good. They gave me a glass full and I took a small sip. It tasted really, really weird. I didn't like it and I still don't like it now. Whenever they talk about how good it tastes and try to get me to have a sip, I always say no and tell them it tastes like a cough medicine or something that has to do with medication. They just don't get me, but I guess everyone is different and we all have different tastes. Do you like root beer? There's also another think I wondered about root beer. How do you make root beer? Is it really beer? Or does it have something to do with a root of something and they fermented it?
