Against all odds

All of us were shocked by the decision of my friend to go live with an addict boyfriend whom she had relationships for just a month. We heard a lot of bad character of this guy but she seemed blinded by the love. Her mother doesn't like the guy, the siblings and the family. Now I heard that she's been beaten by the guy and that she's so becoming a bad person. Now I know it's only her who can decide for herself and we can't do anything about it but to pray for her. For me, if a relationship will have no blessings from the family then I guess it's not worth it. Only bad things will happen because the channel of blessings won't flow smoothly. Those energies emited by the family will hinder them to be happy... I can say so because I have known a lot of couple who have same situation with her.

I also believe that when the family or parents do not seem to approve of a person, there might be a valid reason for it. They must have seen something that the girl didn't. I believe that parents always want what's best for their kids even to the point of being meddlesome. But sometimes, it is also good to hear them out once in a while and actually try to give them a chance to explain their side. who knows we might learn a thing or two from their experience. They're not really trying to be controlling; they just want us not to make the same mistakes that they did.
I hope your friend will get some sense into her head soon. This guy seems to have bad news written all over him.

it's true that when your parents or the family do not approve of someone for you, you would just live a miserable life with that person. aside from the fact that parents' intuition about your partner are more likely to be correct, parents' blessings are also very important. i hope your friend will eventually awake from the situation she's into right now, and i wish she will find someone better, and that her life will finally be alright.

I agree, that in every relationship need to be blessed by the parents because it is a sign of happy life. It is okay if she can teach his addict boyfriend to be a good guy but if not, that is a really big no no to the family specially to the parents and the bad thing is there is also a big possibility that the guy may influence him to become a bad person too.
