what is the difference between love and affection?

i think sympathy causes affection .it causes a love.love with a care to human beings are of different types,yet the most considerable love for me is love to my parents,i think it is my affection to them.love to my girl friend is not an affectionated one but the true feeling towards her,then what about other peoples?
