Do you always wear a new dress on the 1st of January?

It has become a tradition of wearing a new dress on the first of January as it is said to start a new year we must have something new on us. When I was a child my parents could not afford to buy new dresses for me, my brothers and sisters. Those years we did not knew the importance of wearing a new dress nor gave it so much importance. But we did envied other children who were well dressed. As I grew up I started wearing a new dress for the new year till today. But I wonder how many children do not get a new dress to wear. How about you?

Hi friend, good to hear about your story, during my childhood days i don't wear new clothes on the New year day, but i will enjoy a lot with my friends on that day. After getting aged, my parents bought new dresses for me and siblings on New year day and we will enjoy a lot while wearing the new clothes

We don't wear new dress on the first day of January but we do buy something new to wear on special celebration. We are encouraged to wear something new but it is not compulsory to do so. While for me, to have new dress or not it does not matter as I am okay with the dress I have but it is okay to let yourself to have something new to wear.(^^)(^^)

I buy new clothes for me and my family on special occasions. New Year is a special one so we definitely wear new clothes. We love taking pictures and uploading some in our Facebook Accounts for our relatives to see us. In some other days, it's okay to wear clothes which are not new.
