How do you know if your pet is a righty or a lefty? Don't most dogs usually "shake" with the left paw?

If you want to know which paw is the dominant one watch to see which paw he holds a bone with. Or put a treat in one of those Kong toys and see which one he tries to get it out with. And if you watch him go up the stairs, which paw does he lead with?. That should tell you. Also, I have read that some dogs are ambidextrous and show no preference for either paw. It said, too, that ambidextrous dogs react more to noise like thunderstorms or fire works. And welcome to mylot! (don't forget to read the FAQs & guidelines!) :-)
