Dear mylots,I'm a Chinese girl who just graduated from university this year. A month ago, I found a job ralated with my major-Russian. I was excited though the salary was very low,I can use Russian which I love very much. But when I started my work, I found that the work was really different from what I thought. My task was to translate Chinese into Russian for my leader. She was a women who was very crucial, and everyday she blamed me.Every day I felt very blue. What was worse, her major is English and she didn't know Russian at all, every time when I finished translating, I give the material to her, she check it by Google Translater, if the traslater can't understand my Russian, she would criticized me. At last, I can't stand her any more, and I quallered with her.The second day, the chief manerger our company talked with me, and I was fired. Now I‘ve lost my job. The most important is I lost confidence and I felt afraid to work in a company. I just wondering if we can find a job which can bring us happiness? Dears, I'm a new comer in the society, tell me somethings about your job.

Welcome to Mylot.I appreciate you for your first post, because it is a quality one. I would like to say you may or may not find a job that can make you happy.I mean, much depends on luck.If your luck is in your favor, you can get such a job.Otherwise you would have to remain satisfied with the job that you get which is more likely.I am of the opinion,if your job causes you depression and tension, then try to find out something in it that may make you happy.Try to love your job although I know it is easier said than done. The other option is,wait for a good and favorable luck.Nobody can say how long you would have to wait.

Thank you for appreciating:))I know that it's not easy to find a faverable job and I need patience to wait and keep on trying."if your job caouses you depression and tension, then try to find out something in it that may make you happy." I like these sentenses very much, and I will remember them and try my best to do like that!:)

Of course,we can't always get what we like.So better start liking what we get. That's the key to a happy and tension-free life.Thanks.

I would advice you not to lose your confidence. You should lose you confidence if you feel that you were wrong in quarreling with her. As much as I could guess, you weren't wrong. You were happy with the offer and continued to work even after you found that it wasn't same. You must definitely be knowing whether you had to face injustice or you were correctly blamed. Only then should you draw some conclusion. Though you have lost your job, as soon as you are interested in something I do not feel you will sit unemployed for too long. Good Luck. Believe yourself.

Hello Bepawu. I'm sorry to hear what happened to you about your first job. Don't worry dear I'm sure that you will find a better job. Don't think too much about your failure because it will just lessen your motivation to find another work. Set your goals and be positive. Don't think too much about that leader. There were better superiors out there who are more approachable and understanding. My first ever job was teaching. Just like you I'm also a fresh graduate then. I find it very challenging because I will be dealing with students who where just a bit younger than me. At first it was very hard earning their respect but eventually they cooperate and we had a good semester together. I also love my co-teachers and dean because they are really easy to work with. Good luck on your next career. I hope you can find a better job.

Hi Bepawu From what I have read above, I can reassure you do not have to blame yourself for being fired, as it is evident that your boss is not knowledgeable about both the way translations are done and the way your boss approaches her employees. To put it in a nutshell, you have come across a bad company. Being happy and content in one's job is a matter of people you meet there. In your case, I would probably try to find translation jobs on the Internet. There are lots of sites that can provide you with translation opportunities. And to tell the truth, your combination of Chinese and Russian is sought after. What do you think? As far as I am concerned, I am a teacher, which is not such a well-paid job, but on the other hand it is not underpaid and what is even more important for me, you will not encounter so much stress there as in other jobs, for instance the one you described. So maybe here is the way for you to go:)
