How do you secure the future?

I am seriously looking for a proper investment plan to secure my future. With the cost of living rising everyday and inflation taking its toll on the common man, it's absolutely important to save your earnings for the rainy days. But I don't know how this can be done. All I can understand is that I need to save some money to secure my future. Else things will turn worse. If some one can guide me through this one, please do it.
