Is shooting the new golf for government officials?

I just saw the Sunday Inquirer Magazine today and it had an agency official on the cover with a gun. Apparently, like the Justice Secretary and the President, she is a shooting enthusiast. In the past administration, golf was big with PGMA, Mike Arroyo and Benjamin Abalos and it got to the point that several officials or powerbrokers could cement a deal if they join PGMA and entourage on a golf session. Do you think taking shooting as a hobby is a way to be closer to the mightiest person in the land?

I’ll be diplomatic and say – the birds with the same feather, flock together. I am guessing that the president must also find his own companions in doing some things that he wants to do like shooting. Hang the public perception, after all, he’s the president, he can do what the wants while we speculate.

Well, it just happened that they have the same hobby. I don't think it has something to do on who and who is not close to the president.
