In Bulacan, we generally cook mussels by sauteing then placing water to make a broth. It is yummy with rice. However, in the restaurants, I saw mussels baked with cheese and those are good appetizers. During picnic, some grill them. Those are delicious.

I loved it too. But I only it mussels occasionally. Usually when there is no treat of the red-tide from the department of health. My wife usually cooked it the same way you do. And its really a good source of iodine to us. I could eat more that 30-50 pieces of it at one settings. And when it is prepared during Sundays, I'd loved it be grilled.

I love sauteeing it with tomatoes and some chili leaves with lots of ginger on it. baking this seafood is also good as well as grilling. But since I love soupy meals, I love the first one out of the three ways of cooking.

I like mussels too, most of the time I boiled mussels with ginger first until cook and open, after that I get the meat put some onions, garlic, flour, pepper, eggs and some season mix together and dip fried it. Its very tasy and cripy after frying and I used to dipped in vigenar with chilis.

try this new discovery...
boil the mussels. take out the other half of the shell which do not have the meat... then saute the ones with meat in butter. add grated cheese and sweet-chili sauce! once melted, all is done!
it will taste like baked mussels... but not baked! ;)

I love mussels! Well, actually I'm a sucker for seafoods. We cook mussels either by grilling it or sauteeing it with onions, ginger, a little it of sprite and just a little water. We also cooked it with chillies and coconut milk. But we usually just saute it. It's much flavorful that way, plus the stock is so good. It really goes well with steaming hot rice.
