hello friends, A good team leader is always inspiring to his/her fellow workers. They keep/build the team spirit. But we find many such team leaders who are partial towards some of the workers. This not only hurts the fellow workers but also shows its effect on the overall work. How can we overcome this ? Are there any methods which helps to solve this problem? mylotters your views please..

The success of a team leader depends on his impartiality and ability to inspire other members of the team. But we don't always get such good team leaders. Some of them are arrogant and partial.I too have had experiences of working under such team leaders for months.Sometimes I felt depressed and insulted. After pondering over the problem I decided not to pay attention to what our leader said or did and pay attention to my work only. This strategy solved my problem to a large extent. As you know,we can't force anybody to change his or her behavior. So better change ourselves, because we can't give up our work.

Team work is really important while working together. This can greatly improve the efficiency and time-consuming.I think they will understand your character and of course with more understandings. So do not worry about this and everything will be fine.Just enjoy your time working together and you may find the leisure time.

Feedback. If you are one of the team members who has been affected by his partiality, find time to feedback to him. It may seem that it will jeopardize your work, but frankly if it does, it may be better for you to find another team to work with. If your team leader is good, he will accept feedback. If he doesn't, you rest your case...and move on.

Hi One of the qualities of a team leader is being ‘Impartial’. He should be providing support to one and all equally and motivate the team. Partiality may lead to negativity and misunderstanding or conflict among the team members. This can be just one reason for the failure of a team. One of the remedies could be try to discuss informally with your HR person in general and eventually you can ask them to have a check on the leader. You just do your work smart and smooth with sincerity and do not favor any one person even if he/she’s your friend.

You can report it to your superior either to someone who has authority in the company. All you can do is take it as a positive. Don't mind your boss and do your best in your job. Sometimes things like that can distract you in your work.

Everyone can be a leader. A good leader really does tend to the needs of all his fellow workers. If they do not, then they are not meant to lead a certain kind of people, he can lead, but if he does not lead all, then a new leader is required.

Successful team leader is able to explain the vision or goal to be achieved. Then, provoke ideas from all members to make the mission. Leaders do not need to have an idea. Leaders manage the ideas of members. Various ideas will appear. Then take over all the ideas into the idea of ??a team, and is no longer an idea of each member. Furthermore, the leader invites all members to examine each idea and set priorities. Now centered on the concentration of 2 or 3 excellent idea, to be selected more restrictive, to get the only one who agreed with the idea. This is a team commitment, to run consistently. All team members will be happy to run "their idea", rather than run the command leader.

A team good leader should possess a good character. He should teach by example, being an honest person and fair. He should treat each team member equally.

Hi, A good team leader should not be partial for anyone. Then how can we call him as a good leader. Good leader always guide us for good things. If he misguides us then we should not follow his decision. We should not believe on such selfish leaders.

well as a team leader, one has to be fair, It is on the team leader, what can one do if he is bias. Sometimes team leaders are biased towards the ones whose performance is beat and they encourage them more. But as you being under a leader who is biased, I think it is on you to grab his or her attention by doing better then others in the team. be the best and see how everything comes to you automatically. have a wonderful day

a good team leader is so important, we can get success easilier if our team has a good leader, but if the leader are partial towards some of workers. in act it is normal in some team, please ignore them and keep your own way, we can't change what leader did but we can change our own attitude, ignore it ! if you think your leader is good, maybe you can talk with him and let him change his thinking. good luck!

Some leaders never teach the things whatever they know. They are short minded. They don't have broad mind. If you teach one thing to them you can improve only. They all never knowing the fact.

A team leader looks for the best people around him and also targets to improve the ones lagging behind. He strives to uplift the total workplace but often tends to give more time to the ones who already know their work. He is able to produce results faster in such scenarios. What you should do is hold group discussions where every person must view his points, even the shy ones and try to accept the proposals from the weaker ones. Never let him critisize their work or ideas. Make him maintain a proper atmosphere for both the parties and a sence of equality goes a long way.

Hi prashu I can understand your problem as I'm MBA. During my MBA coarse we were alloted various tasks under a teamm leader some independent and some as a group and even I have played the role of team leader many times what I have experienced is I being a team leader have always tried to never show special prefernce to wards any memeber. I always treated my all group members as equal while giving them tasks, and also while appreciating their work. But there were some situations were I have observed my team leaders bein partial towords other members which really create negetive atmosphere in the whole group and also effect the overall work as you said. I think the main reason for this problem is some of the team leaders give more importance to those members who agree all their words and act of being more work holic. What I have learnt from such situations is if we really want to become successful then we should try to do more work when compared to others and proof our selves but it may cause stress problems so the other solution can be like be calm, do your work perfectly and ignore all negetivity around you I know its tuff but it may prevent you from tensions...

A team leader must be independent, he doesn't have to show that he/she is closer with anyone. When I had a small team of 3 people, I was manager at them. So one of the girls in my team I knew from my last job. She thought that knowing me so well, she will have extra privileges, because we were leaving the shop to smoke together or to drink coffee together. It doesn't have to happen this way. Being close with anyone doesn't have to effect the job.

Yes,just as what you say, a good team leader is so important for the whole team and he really effects the team sprits. It is common that some leaders are partial towards someone. I think as a leader should know what he should do and is doing.

If that is the case, then that person is not really a good leader. No one in this world is perfect and everyone has each shares of flaws. Even the best leader has it. If that person is really a good Team Leader, once you discuss his flaws with him, he will accept them and not take it personally then he will make applicable changes as he sees it fit.
