Should India Government support all sports, they are started to support but they should give equal importance like cricket, even BCCI(Board of Control For Cricket in India) should help the government in supporting other sports as it is very rich in world cricket. what do you think?

If they have the cash to spare and athletes who can be competitive, they should do it, but if they are hurting the. Chances of the cricket teams that generated the funds in order to promote athletes who aren't competitive anyway, then they should hold back. In the end it is a financial decision not a fairness one.

What I mean to say is they should at least support by government, for example if you take kabaddi team, they won kabaddi world cup but where are they, even government didn't provide them transport facility to their home. Did you see the government reaction after winning cricket world cup. By the way I love cricket very well but I am pointing the government's irresponsibility...

This kind of dual attitude and discrimination is not good, and should go. However, other sports too are gaining importance, at least in terms of sponsorship and coverage.

Hi vijayroy..every country has a few athletic events or games that get overlooked. We all know how popular baseball is in the US. But it is not popular in some of the eastern nations. US does not have as may archers as it has Tennis stars. Honestly, there are some sports we cannot afford to finance and we have. It is car racing track. Just because we had one guy doing a good job doesnt mean we spend a fortune on that especially because we are not a rich nation. Likewise, one time victory does not fetch adequate revenues for sustaining the games. We are lucky Badminton is proving to be a new arena for us. Wish Deepika Padukone had taken to this sport. It would have got more attention than it is getting. Kudos to Sania Mirza, Saina Nehwal, Parupalli Kashyap, Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, and others. We understand how difficult it must have been for you all to reach that level.

Well, government(s) are starting to give more support for sports, and not only to cricket in monetary terms. However, what is lacking is a will to get rid of red-tapism and bureaucracy in the way the sports associations work. That is very vital for raising the standard of sports in India, and winning more Olympic medals.
